NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Bethel will enter the MIAC playoffs with some momentum, as they defeated St. Olaf 2-1 on the road to sweep the season series tonight.  The Royals clinched their fourth consecutive trip to the playoffs with their 4-3 win over the Oles last night.

Tom Menozzi (Fr., Lakeville, Minn.) scored Bethel's first goal just over seven minutes into the second period, assisted by Eric Adams (Jr., Litchfield, Minn.),  Dan Bonne (Sr., White Bear Lake, Minn.), playing in his final regular season game, scored his 12th goal of the season with the help of John Kovacs (Jr., White Bear Lake, Minn.) and Matt Hall (Sr., Brooklyn Park, Minn.) at the 13:45 mark of the second to give Bethel al they would need for the win.

St. Olaf did manage to come back when John Paulson scored a power play goal just over 12 minutes into the third period.  However, Bethel's defense played tough for the last 1:19 to preserve the win as St. Olaf had pulled their goalie to skate with a player advantage.

The win bumps Bethel up to 16-6-2 overall and 11-4-1 in the MIAC to finish with 23 points. The Oles drop to 8-11-4 overall and 5-6-3 in the MIAC with two games left to play.  Bethel will have next weekend off as it is now a waiting game to determine where they will be seeded because St. Thomas still has one more series yet to play.
