Box Score
NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Earlier this week, the Royals exploded for three goals against a tough Saint John's team. Unfortunately, none of that offensive firepower was present today as Bethel fell 5-0 to #8 nationally ranked and #1 regionally ranked Carleton.
Despite being out-shot 23-0 in the first half, Bethel's defense held against the barrage until 23:45 into the game. That's when Ryan Cammarota scored all Carleton would need, unassisted.
The Royals were able to fire off three shots in the second half, one of them on goal.
Andreas Scott (So., Cedar, Minn.) had Bethel's lone shot on goal. The Royals also had four corner kicks in the second half, but the Knights thwarted any scoring attempts that came as a result.
Goalkeepers
Nick Kantor (Jr., Buffalo, Minn.) and
Leif Sundberg (Fr., Mahtomedi, Minn.) had a busy time in front of the net, facing a combined 37 shots, and 24 shots on goal.
Bethel is now 1-9 overall, and 0-5 in the MIAC, while Carleton improves to 10-0-1 overall and 6-0 in the conference. The Royals continue to look for their first conference victory, and are scheduled to try again next Wednesday at home against St. Olaf beginning at 4 p.m.
