Cobbers take the game 2-1 in the last minutes

ARDEN HILLS, Minn. - The sun was shining, the wind was blowing, and the Bethel Royals were playing a tight game against the Concordia Cobbers. Tied at 1-1 since early on in the game, the Cobbers found a hole and put one away with under six minutes to go, which proved to be the game winner.

Leading scorer, Andreas Scott (So., Cedar, Minn.) took the initiative offensively and scored the first goal of the game and his sixth of the season just after the ten minute mark of the first half, assisted by Jesse Erickson (Sr., Oark Grove, Minn.). The Royals kept the Cobber goalkeeper busy throughout the game, getting a total of 12 shots on net.

Royal goalkeeper Nick Kantor (Jr., Buffalo, Minn.) played a big role in today's game, stopping 12 of the Cobber's 14 shots on goal. Kantor still sits in the number two spot in the MIAC for saves with 105 and saves per game with an average of 7.00.

Both Concordia goals were scored by Justin Foss. The first was unassisted, put in at 21:27, and the his second goal was assisted by Riley McGlynn and Kyle Quimby, scored with five minutes and 34 seconds left in the game.

Bethel is now 1-8 in MIAC play and 4-12 overall and Concordia is 3-6 in MIAC play and 8-8 overall. The Royals now get set to play an away game against Simpson College, which is scheduled for Oct. 29, at 5 p.m. in Indianola, Iowa.
