ST. PETER, Minn. - The Bethel Royals were once again able to put the ball in the net in today's match against the Gustavus Gusties, but their lone goal was not enough to break them out of their slump as the Gusties took the game 3-1.

The Royals were the first to get on the board in the game at the 24:57 mark of the game with a goal by Brittany Griffore (Fr., Maple Grove, Minn.), assisted by Sophie Christiansen (Fr., Portland, Ore.).  The goal was Griffore's second goal in two games and the assist gives Christiansen 19 points for the season placing her in the number 11 spot in the Bethel record book for points.

The Gusties struck back right away, finding the back of the net just a minute after the Royal goal at 25:58.  The goal was scored by Chelsea Craven, unassisted.  Craven went on to score the other two Gustie goals 69 minutes into the game, unassisted, and late in the game at 86:39, assisted by Christy Tupy.

Goalkeeper for the Royals, Charli Sorensen (Sr., Park Ridge, Ill.), had three saves in the game which ties her for the top spot for all-time saves in the Bethel record book with 528 saves thus far. Sorensen is now leading the MIAC in saves with 76 and is tied for second in saves per game, averaging 6.33.

Bethel is now 1-6-1 in the MIAC and 6-6-1 overall and Gustavus is 3-3-1 in the MIAC and 5-6-2 overall. The Royals look to snap their slide in their game against nonconference opponent, Presentation College, which is scheduled for Oct. 15 at 1pm in Aberdeen, S.D.
