Moberg scores 26 in 99-77 win over St. Olaf

ARDEN HILLS, Minn. - Five Royals finished with double-digit points as Bethel defeated St. Olaf by a score of 99-77 at the Robertson Center.

The Royals shot nearly 65-percent from the floor, making two-thirds of their three-point shots.  The Oles were only able to shoot 29-for-63 from the field, and made just 5-of-14 three-pointers.

Mike Moberg (Jr., Plymouth, Minn.) led all players with 26 points, six rebounds, and three blocks.  He was 10-for-14 from the floor and a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line.  Nick Otterson (Jr., St. Paul, Minn.) matched his point total against St. Thomas by scoring 19.  He too was a perfect 6-for-6 from the line helping the Royals shoot 19-for-22 as a team.

Cory Laugen (Jr., Blaine, Minn.) started his first game since Gustavus back on December 3, 2007, and notched a double-double with 13 points and 11 assists.  Tim Madson (Jr., Redwood Falls, Minn.) sat much of the second half but finished with 15 points.  Shane Flannery (So., Lakeville, Minn.) started his second game in a row and scored a season high 10 points.

The Oles were led by Mark Torell with 18 points and Bobby Hunter with 16.

The win moves Bethel to 2-4 in the MIAC and 6-5 overall.  St. Olaf falls to 2-5 in conference play and 4-8 overall.  The Royals hit the road for their next game and will tip-off against Concordia in Moorhead, Minn., on Saturday at 3 p.m.
