BLAINE, Minn. - Brad Peterson knocked in a pair of goals for the Royals, but it was not enough as the UW-River Falls Falcons used five second period goals to top Bethel 6-3.

Bethel jumped out to a 1-0 lead at the 5:46 mark of the first period when Steve Eastman (Sr., Edina, Minn.) scored with the help of Jeff Balvin (Sr., Maple Grove, Minn.) and Kent Bostrom (Jr., Vadnais Heights, Minn.).

The lead only lasted for 1:23 into the second period, as the Falcons scored three goals in the span of four and a half minutes.

It wasn't until after UW-River Falls had scored two more goals in the second period that Brad Peterson (Jr., Bloomington, Minn.) cut the lead to 5-2 with his sixth goal of the season with just under two minutes to play.  Bill Menozzi (Sr., Lakeville, Minn.) and Matt Hall (Sr., Brooklyn Park, Minn.) assisted on the goal.

The Falcons added another goal at the 8:21 mark of the third period to go up 6-2.  Peterson scored once more late in the third period, unassisted, but the damage had already been done.

The Royals fall to 8-4-1 on the season and will resume play on January 18, against Gustavus in St. Peter.
