MOORHEAD, Minn.
- Bethel earned their second conference series sweep by defeating the Concordia Cobbers 5-2 this afternoon.  Today's win, coupled with their 3-1 win last night, gives the Royals another four points in the standings, keeping them one of the top three teams in the conference.

Four different Royals accounted for their five goals, with Brad Peterson (Jr., Bloomington, Minn.) knocking in a pair to give him 11 on the season.

Bethel fell behind 1-0 in the first period, but quickly erased the deficit by scoring three goals in the span of seven minutes in the second period.

John Kovacs (Jr., White Bear Lake, Minn.) tied the game at 1-1 with his fourth goal of the season at the 1:57 mark of the second period.  Christian Fogerty (Fr., Forest Lake, Minn.) tallied his second assist in as many games along with Kent Bostrom (Jr., Vadnais Heights, Minn.) on the Kovacs goal.

Bostrom then assisted Bill Menozzi (Sr., Lakeville, Minn.) on his goal less than three minutes later to put the Royals up 2-1.  Bethel extended their lead to 3-1 at the 8:55 mark of the second period when Matt Hall (Sr., Brooklyn Park, Minn.) scored his third goal of the series and 11th goal of the season with the help of Dan Bonne (Sr., White Bear Lake, Minn.).

Concordia trimmed the lead to 3-2 later in the second period by scoring a power play goal, but Peterson answered with a power play goal of his own five minutes into the third period, assisted by Bill Menozzi.  Peterson then tacked on an empty net goal with the help of Steve Eastman (Sr., Edina, Minn.) and Bonne with less than a minute remaining to seal Bethel's 5-2 win.

The Royals improve to 6-3-1 in the MIAC and 11-5-2 overall, while Concordia remains winless in the conference at 0-7-1 and 1-15-1 overall.  Bethel will travel to Drake Arena in St. Paul, Minn., for their next game, which will be against Hamline next Friday night at 7:15 p.m.
