ST. PETER, Minn. -
Dan Bonne scored three goals and had two assists to lead Bethel over Gustavus 6-3 tonight.

Bonne (Sr., White Bear Lake, Minn.) became the 14th player in Bethel history to reach the 100 point plateau when he scored his second goal of the evening with 11:29 remaining in the game.  He now has 101 points in his career.

Matt Hall (Sr., Brooklyn Park, Minn.) also had a big night for the Royals by scoring a goal and adding three assists for four points.  He is now Bethel's top scorer and ranks in the top three for both overall and conference points.

Gustavus got on the board first when former Royal Patrick Dynan, brother of current Bethel player Kyle Dynan, scored in the first 25 seconds of the game.  He then added his second goal of the evening with 5:01 remaining in the first period.

But Bethel came charging back, doing what they have been doing all year by scoring multiple goals quickly.  Brad Peterson (Jr., Bloomington, Minn.) cut the Gusties lead in half at 2-1 when he scored a power play goal with the help of Bonne and Steve Eastman (Sr., Edina, Minn.) at the 17:52 mark of the first period.  Less than two minutes later, the Royals struck again when Bonne scored his first goal of the night with just 22 seconds remaining in the period.  Brent Kettlekamp (Jr., Richfield, Minn.) and Hall were credited with the assist.

With the game tied at two, the Gusties came out strong in the second period and took the lead when Mitch Carlson scored with the help of Dynan.  It would be all that Gustavus would get in terms of scoring, as All-MIAC goalie Aaron Damjanovich (So., Remer, Minn.) played lights-out hockey from that point on.  Damjanovich had 34 saves on the night.

Bethel tied the score at three when Hall scored his eight goal of the season with the help of Bonne and John Kovacs (Jr., White Bear Lake, Minn.).

Just 46 seconds into the third period, Christian Fogerty (Fr., Forest Lake, Minn.) scored his ninth goal and third game-winning goal of the season, assisted by Jeff Balvin (Sr., Maple Grove, Minn.) and Kent Bostrom (Jr., Vadnais Heights, Minn.).  Fogerty is now third in overall scoring among MIAC freshmen.

Bonne then went on to score Bethel's last two goals, both assisted by Hall, and one with additional help from Peterson.

The Royals have now won five straight regular season games over the Gusties and six of the last seven.  They are now 9-4-1 overall and 4-2-1 in the MIAC.  Gustavus falls to 4-3 in the conference and 7-8-1 overall.  The same two teams will face off against each other tomorrow night at 7 p.m. at Bethel University Arena at the Schwan's Super Rink complex in Blaine, Minn.
