LAKE FOREST, Ill. - The Royals overcame a two-goal deficit in the third period, and Kassy Sullivan scored an unassisted goal 3:12 into overtime to lead the Royals over the Lake Forest College Foresters 3-2 on the road.

Bethel tied up the score at 2-2 with just 16-seconds remaining by pulling two-time All-MIAC goalie Beth Spurrier (Jr., Plymouth, Minn.) to skate with a player advantage.  Emily Elder (Fr., Rock Springs, Wyo.), playing in just her second game with the Royals after transferring in from Robert Morris College, scored the game tying goal with the help of fellow newcomer, Jenna Bullock (So., Buffalo, Minn.).  Bullock joined the Royals during the winter break, having transferred from Gustavus.

Bullock was also credited with the assist on Bethel's first goal of the game, a power play goal by captain Amy Beitzel (Sr., Apple Valley, Minn.) with 7:17 remaining in the third period.

The Royals fell behind in the first 20 seconds of the second period when Courtney DeHoey scored.  DeHoey got an assist on the Foresters next goal with less than 20 seconds remaining in the period.

Spurrier faced 23 shots and recorded 21 saves, including two in overtime for her sixth win of the season and school leading 22nd career victory.

The win helps Bethel improve to 6-5-1 on the season and 3-2-1 against Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) opponents.  Lake Forest drops to 5-5-2 overall with the loss.  Bethel returns home to take on Gustavus at 7 p.m. next Friday night at Bethel University Arena at the Schwan's Super Rink in Blaine, Minn.  The Royals are still winless in 16 games against the Gusties.
