MOORHEAD, Minn. - The Royals suffered their worst loss of the season today, as Condordia overcame an 11-point deficit in the first half to defeat Bethel 92-72.

Three Royals finished with double-digit points, including Annegret Nautsch (Jr., Seattle, Wash.) who scored 16 points and grabbed 14 rebounds while blocking four shots.

Kiersten Hansen (So., Eden Prairie, Minn.) scored a season high 13 points while also recording five assists.  Shari Laugen (So., Blaine, Minn.) added 10 points of her own to help lead Bethel.

The Royals headed into the locker room at halftime against Concordia leading by five points after Jess Gilpin (So., St. Francis, Minn.) sank a three-point shot with three seconds remaining.  Bethel led for the entire first half, and by as many as 11 points with less than four minutes remaining.

However, the Cobbers came out strong in the second half and used an 8-0 run early on to build a lead, then continue to build on it.  Melanie Hageman led all scorers with 25 points by shooting 10-for-18 from the floor and 5-6 from the line.  The Cobber center also had eight rebounds on the afternoon.

Turnovers and foul trouble played an integral part in the second half as the Royals were outscored 20-8 off of turnovers and 38-4 inside the paint.  Bethel turned the ball over 23 times compared to just 13 by Concordia.

The loss drops Bethel to 3-5 in MIAC play - all against the top five teams in the conference - and 6-5 overall.  The Cobbers improve to 6-2 in the conference and 7-4 overall.  The Royals return home to take on Macalester next Wednesday at 5:45 p.m. in the Robertson Center.
