MINNEAPOLIS
- The Royals closed out their season with a split against the Augsburg Auggies today at Siebert Field on the campus of the University of Minnesota, falling 6-3 before coming back to win 9-1 in the second half of the twin-bill.

In game one, Bethel was held to just four hits, but did manage to tie the game at 3-3 before heading into the bottom of the fifth inning.  However, the Auggies rallied and put the game out of reach at 6-3.

In game two, the two teams played to a scoreless tie through three innings.  Bethel scored first in the top of the fourth on Kirby Carr's (Sr., Fergus Falls, Minn.) 12th home run of the season, only for Augsburg to tie it in the home half with a home run of their own.

The Royals tacked on two more runs in the top of the fifth thanks to a triple by Jared Bangs (Jr., Fergus Falls, Minn.) followed by a RBI single by Brandon Carr (Jr., Fergus Falls, Minn.) and a RBI double by Kirby Carr.

Rain began falling in the top of the sixth, just as the Royals bats exploded for six runs, putting them up 9-1.  After a scoreless bottom of the sixth, the field crew came out to lay down tarp, and after about half an hour the game was called after six complete innings.

As a result, the Royals finished the 2007 season on a winning note.  The win gave Greg Indlecoffer his 100th career victory as head coach of the Bethel squad.  Indlecoffer played for Bethel for four years and returned to the club as an assistant for many years before returning to the program in 2003 as head coach.
