NORTHFIELD, Minn.- First year Kari McClintick had a goal and two assists to lead the St. Olaf women's hockey team to a 5-1 win on Saturday to complete a series sweep of Bethel University.
The Oles (15-9-1, 12-5-1) have won five straight and will be the number two or three seed in the MIAC playoffs in Thursday's semifinals.
The Oles got on the board with a Tessa Christensen score with 21 seconds left in the first period.
After a scoreless second, St. Olaf erupted for four third period goals.
St. Olaf goalie Shannon Herrick's bid for a shutout ended when the Royals' Sandra Felten scored with 1:10 left in regulation.
The Oles' playoff seed depends on the University of St. Thomas' game with Saint Mary's University, which was postponed until Sunday. If the Tommies win or tie, St. Olaf will be the third seed and play at St. Thomas. Only a Saint Mary's win gives St. Olaf home ice for Thursday's semifinal.
