Bethel grabs 65-56 win over St. Mary's

ARDEN HILLS, Minn.- The Bethel women's basketball team was able to earn their fourth straight win defeating the St. Mary's Cardinals 65-56 at the Robertson Center tonight.

Bethel and St. Mary's combined for 46 turnovers, and each shot just over 35%. However, Bethel out-rebounded St. Mary's 50-30, which turned out to be a deciding factor as the Royals scored 14 second chance points to only one for the Cardinals.

Bethel was led once again by Annegret Nautsch, who had her fourth consecutive double-double scoring 18 points and grabbing 11 rebounds to go along with her four blocks. Kiersten Hansen had a nice game as well finishing with nine points, five rebounds, and two steals. Sarah Cotner and Heather Davis each had eight points and three blocks as Davis also finished with six boards.

St. Mary's had two players in double figures as Jessica Weisbrod and Kelly Tanke finished with 17 and 12 respectively. Weisbrod also had seven boards as Tanke added four rebounds.

Despite the win, the Royals were eliminated from playoff contention as St. Thomas and St. Catherine's wrapped up the final two spots. Bethel is now 10-11 in the MIAC and 11-13 overall. St. Mary's moves to 7-17 overall and 5-16 in MIAC play. Bethel plays at Augsburg this Saturday, February 17 in the season finale. Tip off is set for 3 p.m.
