Much's layup forces overtime, Bethel defeats Carleton 75-68

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Mike Much (So., Champlin, Minn.) scored on a layup with 22 seconds remaining to tie Bethel's game against Carleton at 60 to force overtime.  The Royals went on to pick up their first conference win of the season, and handed Carleton their first loss of the season by defeating them 75-68.

Bethel only missed one shot in overtime, a free throw, and scored on all seven of its possessions in the extra period with clutch three pointers from Much and Shane Flannery (So., Lakeville, Minn.).

Tim Madson (Jr., Redwood Falls, Minn.) led the way for the Royals with 25 points, while Mike Moberg contributed a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds.

Brian Rosett scored 21 points and had seven rebounds to lead the Knights.  Carleton had four players reach double digits during the game.

Bethel improves to 4-3 overall and 1-2 in the MIAC, while Carleton drops to 6-1 overall and 3-1 in conferenc play.  The Royals return to action at the Robertson Center when they tip off against North Central University at 7:30 p.m. next Wednesday night.
