ST. PETER, Minn. - Gustavus had four players reach double digit points on their way to a 69-55 win over visiting Bethel.
The Royals trailed by just four at halftime, but the Gusties pulled away in the second half, outscoring Bethel 27-17. Bethel shot just 20-of57 from the field and 12-of-18 from the free throw line.
Mike Moberg (Jr., Plymouth, Minn.) led the Royals with 15 points and 12 rebounds.
Tim Madson (Jr., Redwood Falls, Minn.) scored 14 points, making it the first time all season he had not reached 20 points for the game.
The Gusties were led by Jesse Van Sickle who had 15 points.
The loss drops Bethel to 3-3 overall and 0-2 in the MIAC. They will try again for their first conference win when they take on the Carleton Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday night in Northfield, Minn. Gustavus improves to 3-2 overall and 2-1 in conference play.
