ARDEN HILLS, Minn. - The Royals had five players reach double digit points on their way to a 95-38 win over North Central University.
Bethel stepped up their defense tonight, forcing North Central to make risky passes and low percentage shots. The Rams had 24 turnovers to the Royals 11, and made less than 30-percent of their shots from the field.
Once again,
Tim Madson (Jr., Redwood Falls, Minn.) led the scoring for Bethel with 17 points despite playing just 22 minutes.
Nick Otterson (Jr., St. Paul, Minn.) added 15 points of his own, hitting all three of his 3-point shots, and only missing one of his three field goal shots.
Rob Lang (So., Johnston, Iowa) had a career-best 14 points. Lang saw very little action last year as a freshman, but has averaged nearly 10 minutes per game and 3.8 points per game this season.
Mike Moberg (Jr., Plymouth, Minn.) and
Eric Hugoson (Fr., Granada, Minn.) also reached double digits for the Royals with 11 and 10 points, respectively, while
Mike Much (So., Champlin, Minn.) was Bethel's leading rebounder with 10.
North Central was led by Daniel Young who had 12 points.
The Royals have now won back-to-back games for the second time this season and are 5-3 overall. North Central drops to 2-6. Bethel closed out the 2007 portion of their season tonight, and will return to action at 3 p.m. on January 5, 2008, against St. John's at the Robertson Center.
