Last minute rally gives Hamline 87-81 win over Bethel

ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – The Royals led by as many as 11 points in the second half in their game against the Hamline Pipers, but ultimately fell 87-81.

Bethel led 81-80 with 50 seconds remaining.  However, Hamline's Eric Clute scored eight of his 31 points in the span of 14 seconds to put the Pipers up to stay.

Tim Madson (Jr., Redwood Falls, Minn.) scored 27 points to lead Bethel.  Mike Moberg (Jr., Plymouth, Minn.) and Nick Otterson (Jr., St. Paul, Minn.) also scored double digits with 15 and 14 points, respectively.

The loss drops Bethel to 3-2 overall and 0-2 in the MIAC.  Hamline improves to 2-3 overall and 2-0 in the conference.  The Royals will take on Gustavus next Monday at 7:30 in St. Peter, Minn., for their next game.
