BLAINE, Minn. - The tandem of Kent Bostrom (Jr., Vadnais Heights, MN) and Jeff Balvin (Sr., Maple Grove, MN) helped account for half of Bethel's goals in their 8-2 victory over the University of Minnesota Crookston at Bethel University Arena.
The Royals put 3 goals up on the board in the first period alone, and added to their lead steadily throughout the game.
Bostrom had a hat trick on the day, with each goal assisted by Balvin. Bostrom returned the favor by assisting Balvin on his goal in the third period.
Christian Fogerty (Fr., Forest Lake, MN) found the back of the net for the second night in a row when he scored just before the end of the 2nd period. Brad Peterson (Jr., Bloomington, MN) and Brent Kettlekamp (Jr., Richfield, MN) each had two points with a goal and an assist to their names. John Kovacs (Jr., White Bear Lake, MN) also had a goal for the Royals, with an assist going to Dan Bonne (Sr., White Bear Lake, MN).
Crookston got both of their goals from Alex Maginnis, one unassisted, the other on a power play.
Bethel improves to 2-0-0 on the season and will travel to Fon du Lac, WI, to take on Marian College next Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and 4 p.m., respectively. Crookston falls to 0-2-0 on their season.
