Wolters, Nautsch lead Bethel over St. Catherine 73-62

ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Bethel University women's basketball team tipped off their conference schedule with a 73-62 win over the College of St. Catherine.

The Wildcats jumped out to a 3-0 lead, but that was to be their only lead of the night.  Bethel went ahead 4-3 and never looked back, leading 40-28 at the half, and by as many as 17 points late in the second half.

Kristen Wolters (So., St. Cloud, Minn.) and Annegret Nautsch (Jr., Seattle, Wash.) each scored 18 points to pave the way for the Royals.  Nautsch also added 14 rebounds and a blocked shot.

Forward Erica Hormig (So., Windom, Minn.) also tallied double digit scoring with 10 points.

St. Catherine was led by Brooke Hakanson who had 15 points, six rebounds, and four steals.

Bethel is now 3-0 overall and 1-0 in the MIAC.  Their next game will be at home this Saturday at 1 p.m. against the Hamline Pipers.  St. Catherine drops to 1-2 overall and 0-1 in the conference.
