Mike Moberg (Jr., Plymouth, Minn.) nabbed 14 rebounds and scored 12 points and
Tim Madson showed why he's been named the College Sporting News preseason Player of the Year by scoring 33 points to lead Bethel over Crown 86-81.
The Royals led 43-31 at the half, but were outscored in the second half as Crown shot 65.5% from the field compared to Bethel's 37.5%. The Royals made 21 second half free throws to hang on for the win.
Cory Laugen (Jr., Blaine, Minn.) scored 17 points and
Nick Otterson (Jr., St. Paul, Minn.) scored 11 giving the Royals four players in double digits.
Steve Harris and Kincade Kirkpatrick led the Storm with 24 and 17 points, respectively.
Bethel improves to 3-1 overall and will begin conference play on Saturday at the Robertson Center when they take on Hamline at 3 p.m. Crown drops to 1-2 overall with the loss.
