Balvin, Hall lead Bethel to 7-4 win over St. Scholastica

DULUTH, Minn. – The Royals returned to their winning ways by defeating the St. Scholastica Saints 7-4 in a non-conference game.  Three goals in the last 14 minutes allowed Bethel to pull away from a 4-4 tie to claim the victory.

Jeff Balvin (Sr., Maple Grove, Minn.) and Matt Hall (Sr., Brooklyn Park, Minn.) each had two goals and two assists to lead Bethel.

All-MIAC goalie Aaron Damjanovich (So., Remer, Minn.) recorded 34 saves during the game, as the Royals were outshot 38-27.

Kent Bostrom (Jr., Vadnais Heights, Minn.) scored his team leading seventh goal of the season, while Christian Fogerty (Fr., Forest Lake, Minn.) and Brent Kettelkamp (Jr., Richfield, Minn.) added goals to round out Bethel's scoring.

Bethel's win snaps a two-game losing streak.  The last time they had lost back to back games was Nov. 11 and Nov. 22, last season against UW Stevens Point and UW Superior, respectively.

The Royals are now 5-2 overall and will continue their conference schedule next Friday at the Augsburg Ice Arena when they take on the Auggies.  St. Scholastica drops to 2-5-1 with the loss.
