Tschetter's goal enough to beat UW River Falls

October 11, 2007

Jessie Tschetter

RIVER FALLS, Wis. - Jessie Tschetter (Sr., Sioux Falls, SD) scored her 11th goal, while Charli Sorensen (Jr., Park Ridge, IL) recorded her second shutout of the season in Bethel's 1-0 road victory over UW River Falls.

Tschetter's goal came at the 59:41 mark, and the defense did the rest, limiting the Falcons to just 3 shots on goal in the second half and no corner kicks.  The goal is Tschetter's 20th career goal, making her just the 3rd player in recorded Bethel history to reach that plateau.  She remains 10 goals shy of former teammate Lauren Johnson's record of 30.

The Royals racked up 12 shots on goal while the Falcons had 8.  There were 24 fouls between the two teams and River Falls' Betsy Straub received a yellow card just four seconds after Tschetter scored her goal.

Bethel improves to 6-6-2 on the season, while River Falls drops to 2-9-2.  The Royals have just 3 conference games remaining and need to win all of them to keep any playoff hopes alive.  Their next game will be against Gustavus at 1 p.m. in St. Peter.
