COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. - Bethel split a pair of games Saturday against St. John's staying in the upper tier of the conference standings.
In game one, Bethel jumped to a 4-1 lead in the first inning and never looked back taking the 14-4 victory.
The Royals were led by
Kirby Carr who went 3-3 with four runs scored and two RBI's.
Alex Garee continued his strong season going 2-5 while scoring and knocking in two. Bethel also continued to show their HR power as
Travis Wermedal knocked out his first on the year in one of his three hits.
In game two, MIAC player of the week Josh Hollenhorst was able to keep Bethel off the scoreboard despite giving up seven hits. Hollenhorst finished with a complete game shutout in which he struck out four. The Royals were led by
Dan Villas who finished with two of the seven hits.
Bethel's next game is Tuesday, April 26 when they travel to take on conference leader St. Thomas for a 2:30 p.m. match-up. The Royals are now 14-13 overall and 7-5 in conference play.
