Game 1 Box Score | Game 2 Box Score

MINNEAPOLIS
- The Royals started their season today at the Metrodome on a sour note, as they were swept by Central 9-6 and 5-4. In game one, the Royals took a 6-1 lead with a five run fourth inning. Central would not be outdone as they came back in the bottom of the fourth with four of their own making the score 6-5. The rest of the scoring came in the fifth when Central continued to hit the ball driving in 4 more runs for the final of 9-6. Game two was almost the opposite as Central had a 5-1 lead after four innings. The difference was that the Royals could not quite make the comeback as they scored the last three runs of the game falling just short 5-4.

Bethel was led by Zack Ludvigson who went 2-4 with a walk, 2 RBI's, and a run scored on the day. Also playing well for the Royals was Alex Garee who finished the afternoon batting 2-5 with 3 RBI's and a run scored.

For Central, Austin DeHoogh led the way in game one, as he batted 1-3, scoring once and knocking in 3 before getting the win in game two. Josh Sandin also contributed to the Dutch wins by going 3-5, with 3 RBI's and two runs scored.

Kent Patterson earned the win for the Dutch in game one, as Dane Hansen was slated with the loss for the Royals. In Game 2 Austin DeHoogh earned the win and Justin Haddock received the loss as the game was called after six innings due to time.

Bethel will continue at the Metrodome with another double-header Monday, March 7, against Minot State. Game one of the double-header starts at 5:00 p.m.
