Porta breaks rushing record but Bethel falls to Concordia 30-12

ARDEN HILLS, Minn.
- Of the 295 yards gained by the Royals, 186 were courtesy of running back Phil Porta as he set Bethel's all-time rushing record against a Cobber run defense that had averaged giving up only 55.7 yards per game. Porta's first carry of the afternoon was the record breaker when he scampered for a 79-yard TD run. Porta now has 3,571 career rushing yards on 631 carries (5.7 yards per carry) surpassing Mike Johnson's previous record of 3,435 (1999-02).

The Bethel Defense was led by Steve Luebke and Kirby Carr who both finished with nine tackles. Matt Ammermann, Robbie Eillis, and Mark Gaalswyk all provided one sack in the contest.
