Ferda earned NCAA All-American status at the 2009 Outdoor Track and Field Championship meet in both the 110 meter hurdles and as a member of the 4 x 400 meter relay team. Ferda took fifth place in the hurdles with a time of 14.60 seconds. He previously broke his own school record set last year by earning a 14.48 second time at the MIAC Championship meet. He also helped set a new school record in the 1600 meter relay as the lead runner on the team that earned a time of 3:11.18, thus shattering the school record time he helped set just 48 hours before. Ferda is also an NCAA All-American in the 55-meter hurdles, which he achieved in the indoor season of 2008.
