Travis Adams (Sr., Chanhassen, Minn.) helped Bethel win two MIAC games last week by pitching a combined 13 scoreless innings against St. Olaf and Gustavus, holding the opponents to just a .128 batting average. On Tuesday against St. Olaf, Adams scattered four hits and a walk over six innings of work, while striking out a career high nine batters in Bethel's 1-0 win. The lefthander did not allow a baserunner past second base in the Royals first win over the Oles since 2006, and the first shutout of St. Olaf in Bethel history. Then, on Saturday, Adams took to the mound against Gustavus and allowed just two hits in seven innings. He did not walk a batter and struck out three as Bethel went on to win 3-0. Adams now has a 9-to-1 strikeout to walk ratio in conference play and has helped Bethel earn a 5-3 record against the top four MIAC teams from 2008.
