Gabe Hymer (So., Apple Valley, Minn.) vaulted his way into the Bethel record book by clearing 15 feet, 7 inches in the pole vault. His leap was good enough for an NCAA provisional mark. Hymer nearly cleared 16 feet, but barely knicked the bar. The former record was 15 feet, 3 1/2 inches, set by Greg Stipe 30 years ago in 1980.
