Royals Post Solid Performance in Northfield

Emmy Inwards

RESULTS

NORTHFIELD, Minn.—Entering the St. Olaf Invitational, head coach Joe Stephens had two goals for his young team-gain experience and race well in a big environment. The Royals did that Saturday, finishing 15th in a field that included several national-ranked teams at the DII and DIII levels.

Emmy Inwards led Bethel, finishing the 6K course in 89th place overall. Her time was 25:00, just ahead of Abigail Burr, the Royals second-place finisher. Burr's time of 25:04 placed her 94th. Madeline Cramer (102nd, 25:11), Lydia Herath (148th (25:59) and Lindsay Johnson (181st, 26:25) rounding out the scoring portion of the team.

"I thought the team did an excellent job," said Stephens. "They ran with focus and confidence. The course was muddy in places due to the recent rain, but we still had a number of PRs."

Next on the Royals' schedule is Friday, Sept. 30's Blugold Invitational at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
