Hatton Leads Royals at La Crosse

RESULTS

LA CROSSE, Wis.—Evan Hatton's top-30 performance highlighted a strong performance for the Royals at Saturday's Jim Drews Invitational, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Hatton covered the 8K course in 26:35, finishing in 29th overall individually and helping the team to a 12th place finish.

"As a team, we finished ahead of several teams who beat us earlier," said head coach Joe Stephens. "And for Evan to be top 30 in one of the best Division III meets in the country is absolutely awesome."

Anders Rasmussen was the second Royal across the line, finishing 83rd in a time of 27:33. Andy Barnhart ran a big personal best of 27:44, finishing 95th. John Mark Shields (119th, 28:05) and David Huffman (126th, 28:09) were Bethel's final two scorers. Huffman's time was a season best.

The Royals next race is the MIAC championship meet Saturday, Oct. 29 in St. Paul and Coach Stephens is confident his team will be ready to run well. "We're feeling great," he said.

"We're peaking at the right time."
