Matt Berens was announced today as the USA Track and Field Minnesota Athlete of the Month. Berens recently won the University of Minnesota's Roy Griak Invitational Maroon Division III race for the second time in his career with a time of 26:30, which helped the Royals finish third overall—the highest team finish in program history.
 
Berens and the men's cross country team are headed to Oshkosh, Wis., this weekend for the AAE Invitational, which is said to be one of the premiere Division III cross country meets across the nation. Runners will compete at the Lake Breeze Golf Club in Winneconne, which is the home of the 2015 NCAA Division III Championship race on November 21.
