Bethel and Halvorson Finish 3rd at Les Duke Invite

GRINNELL, Iowa – The Bethel University women's cross country team posted a solid third place finish at the Les Duke Invitational hosted by Grinnell College. Building off of her first­place finish from the Augsburg Dual two weeks ago, Annika Halverson continued to show poise in her first collegiate 6k. Halverson finished 4th overall, 3rd among NCAA runners, with a time of 22:37. That debut ranks her number 8 on Bethel's all­time list. Next in was senior Rebecca Wesley, finishing 18th with a time of 23:43.

Rounding out the rest of Bethel's scoring 5 was two seniors and a freshman. Finishing 37th was senior Melody Walton running a time of 24:36. Freshman Lindsay Johnson finished with a time of 24:47 in her 6 kilometer debut, placing 41st overall. Rounding out the scoring was senior Emma Blanchard, placing 49th overall with a time of 25:10.

The Royals will compete again in two weeks at the Roy Griak Invitaitonal hosted by the University of Minnesota on September 27th.
