GRINNELL, Iowa - In just their second meet of the season, the Bethel University men's cross country team looked like a well-oiled machine by placing fifth out of 14 teams at the Les Duke Invitational today. The Royals finished only behind Truman State, a Division II school; Grinnell, a nationally ranked program; as well as Cornell and Wartburg.
Dan Greeno (Sr., St. Michael, Minn.) was the overall race winner by completing the 8k race in 25:17, which was more than 30 seconds ahead of his nearest competitor. Bethel's next two finishers were
Austin Hinrichs (Jr., Clara City, Minn.) at 27:02, followed by
Sam Greeno (So., St. Michael, MInn.) at 27:14.
Zach Haskins (Fr., Maple Grove, Minn.) and
Brian Anderson (Sr., Andover, Minn.) rounded out Bethel's top five finishers at 49th and 50th place with times of 28:16, and 28:17, respectively.
Bethel gets two weeks to rest, train, and prepare for the Griak Invitational, scheduled to take place on September 26, at the Les Bolstad Golf Course on the St. Paul campus of the University of Minnesota.
