GRINNELL, Iowa - Dan Greeno (Sr., St. Michael, Minn.) won the NCAA Central Region individual championship and the Royals took 10th place out of 25 teams today. Greeno's time of 24:49 was nearly 10 seconds better than his nearest competitor and it is almost 47 seconds better than his time at the same meet a year ago. He will now be the lone Royal to advance to the NCAA National Championship meet, making it his third consecutive appearance.

Brian Anderson (Sr., Andover, Minn.) was the only other Royal to finish in the top 50, as he posted a time of 26:36 in the 8k race. However, Sam Greeno (So., St. Michael, MInn.), Austin Hinrichs (Jr., Clara City, Minn.), and Joel McDougall (So., Minneapolis, Minn.) all finished shortly thereafter, taking spots 53, 58, and 59 in the 173-man race, respectively. All of the latter three runners posted times within five seconds of each other.

Greeno will now travel to Ohio with Marie Borner and Heather Jelen of the women's team as Bethel's three representatives in the national meet, scheduled to take place on Saturday, Nov. 21.
