ST. PAUL, Minn.
- She did it again! Marie Borner (Jr., Cottage Grove, Minn.) came in first place overall for the second consecutive year helping Bethel earn a second place team finish at the MIAC Championship meet at Como Park Golf Course today.

The Royals had four runners in the top 15, and missed becoming conference champions for the first time in team history by just three points. As it is, the second place finish is still the best Bethel has ever performed at the conference championship meet.

Borner finished the 6,000-meter race with a time of 21:11.47, nearly 45 seconds ahead of teammate Alex Potter (So., Windom, Minn.), who finished in second place with a time of 21:56.17. Kristin Mork (So., Cambridge, Minn.) finished 14th overall with a time of 23:00.22, while Heather Jelen (Sr., Sioux Falls, S.D.) rounded out the largest group of Bethel All-MIAC runners the school has ever had by finishing 15th with a time of 23:00.82.  Janelle Crary (Jr., Grand Forks, N.D.) came in 36th place with a time of 23:46.87 to complete Bethel's top five runners.

Although the conference championships are now over, the Royals still have some running left to do, and are scheduled to compete in the Fall Finale hosted by Saint John's next Friday beginning at 4:30 p.m.
