ST. PAUL, Minn. - For the third time this season, Bethel's
Marie Borner (Jr., Cottage Grove, Minn.) has earned MIAC Athlete of the Week status. This week, she shares the honor with Simone Childs-Walker from Carleton.

Borner
won the Brooks Invitational hosted by UW-Oshkosh last Saturday, finishing in first place out of 415 runners with a time of 20:36.84, nearly five seconds ahead of her nearest competitor. Borner started taking control of the six-kilometer run at the two-mile mark and pulled away in the final 800 meters of the race held at Lake Breeze Golf Course. Borner's time crushed her previous best by 46 seconds, which was set on the same course a year ago, and also set a new school record with her performance.
The Royals next scheduled competition is the MIAC Championship on Saturday, November 1, beginning at 2 p.m. at Como Park Golf Course in St. Paul, Minn.
