WINNECONNE, Wis. - Bethel's #31 nationally ranked women's cross country team packed up and headed east into Wisconsin to participate in the Brooks Invitational hosted by UW-Oshkosh.
Marie Borner (Jr., Cottage Grove, Minn.) navigated the 6,000 meter Lake Breeze Golf course with relative ease, finishing in first place out of 400 runners with a time of 20:36.84, nearly five seconds ahead of her nearest competitor.
Once again, the Royals got strong performances from several other runners to help the team finish in fifth place overall out of 30 teams.
Alex Potter (So., Windom, Minn.) had another good race, finishing in 14th with a time of 21:59.
Heather Jelen (Sr., Sioux Falls, S.D.) was the third Royal to place in the top 20 by finishing 18th with a time of 22:17.
Kristin Mork (So., Cambridge, Minn.) placed 38th, while
Kayla Jelen (So., Sioux Falls, S.D.) finished 104th to round out Bethel's top five finishers.
Today's meet was the Royals final competition before the MIAC Championship meet, scheduled to take place two Saturday's from now on November 1, at Como Park Golf Course in St. Paul, Minn.
