Bethel Volleyball Receiving Votes in AVCA Preseason Poll
LEXINGTON, Ky. — Bethel University's volleyball program has been among the nation's top performers over the last several years and 2017 looks to be no different as the Royals were recently in the
AVCA Division III Coaches Top 25 Preseason Poll. BU, who has been recognized in the Top 25 poll the last three seasons, received 14 votes in 2017's first poll. Moreover, they were one of three conference schools and six Central region programs listed in the Top 25 and receiving votes section.

The Royals, who return to campus today and begin preseason camp tomorrow, will open the 2017 campaign with a trip to Claremont, California for four matches in the Pacific Coast Classic. Bethel is scheduled to face off against five teams listed in the preseason poll during the upcoming season, including UW-Stevens Point, Gustavus Adolphus, UW-Oshkosh, St. Thomas, and Northwestern-St. Paul.

BU will enter camp with 36 players, which includes 22 returners and 14 newcomers. Among those returning are All-MIAC middle-blocker
Kristin Stern and outside hitter
Tina Hoppe. Also included in the group of returners is
Karin Canakes,
Dominique Dabu,
Emily Kukacka, and
Brooke Olstad, who played at least 27 matches one year ago.
