ST. PAUL, MINN.—In the final tune-up before next week's conference championship meet, Jill Krier produced her best meet of the year, setting a new personal best time to win the 100-meter dash at Hamline's Meet of the Unsaintly Saturday. Krier also led off the winning 4x100-meter relay.
Krier's mark of 12.49 seconds in the 100 was a .08 improvement from her previous best of 12.57. In the 4x100, the junior combined with
AddieKay Johnson,
Danielle Peterson and
Hanna Frekot to run a season best time of 48.80.
Mollie Gillberg showed her readiness for the MIAC championships, running a relaxed 18:41.94 to win the 5,000-meter run.
The Royals recorded two runner-up finishes in the middle distance events.
Erin Alpers ran a 2:19.03 to take second place in the 800-meter run and
Annika Halverson crossed the line second in the 1,500-meter run. Her time was 4:49.40.
Frekot led a 2-3 finish in the long jump, leaping 17'4" (5.28 meters).
Katie Dillie recorded a massive personal best of 17'3.25" (5.26m) to finish third. The senior added a third place finish in the high jump, clearing 4'11.50 (1.51m).
Johnson continued her strong season in the 400-meter dash, lowering her personal best to 58.25, good for third place.
The MIAC championship meet begins Friday, May 13 at St. John's University in Collegeville.
