4x400 finishes 15th at national meet

RESULTS

WAVERLY, Iowa—The 4x400-meter relay squad ended their season by running 3:17.07 in the preliminary round of the NCAA Division III outdoor national championship meet. That time was the second-fastest mark of the season for the team of Carl Klamm, Evan Hatton, Karl Olsen and Patrick Klamm and placed them 15th overall.

After a solid opening leg from C. Klamm, the Royals encountered trouble on the second carry. Running in a tight pack around the second turn, Hatton was tripped, costing him several meters and momentum. The Royals were never able to get back into the race.

The quartet finished the year ranked second on Bethel's all-time performance list with their 3:13.49 showing at UW-LaCrosse, in addition to sweeping the indoor and outdoor MIAC titles.
