MIAC Day 2: 4x400 wins, men 6th overall

Carl Klamm finished second in the 400-meter dash and anchored the 4x400-meter relay team to victory.

RESULTS

COLLEGEVILLE, MINN.—The 4x400-meter relay team closed out the MIAC championship meet in style, adding the outdoor title to their first-place finish indoors. Patrick Klamm, Karl Olsen, Dan Wahlstedt and Carl Klamm crossed the line in a time of 3:18.74, edging out second-place St. Olaf by .30 seconds. That win earned the quartet All-MIAC honors. As a team, the Royals finished sixth out of 11 schools.

For C. Klamm, the 4x400 was his second All-MIAC finish of the day. The freshman used a strong home stretch to finish second in the 400-meter dash.

Bryce DeBoer, competing in his final conference championship, produced the best throw of his career to take second and earn All-MIAC honors in the hammer. His mark of 168'5" (51.35 meters) represented an 11-inch improvement over his previous best.

Evan Hatton finished in All-MIAC position in the 800-meter run, courtesy of a frantic dash to the finish. His time of 1:57.06 placed him third.

In the 200 meters, Karl Olsen dashed to a fourth-place, All-MIAC Honorable Mention finish in a time of 22.16.

Colton Syler finished seventh in the 110-meter hurdles.
