NORTHFIELD, MINN.—
Jillian Krier kept busy at Saturday's Carleton Relay, contesting three events, ending the day with two first-place finishes and one runner-up.
Amanda Passaglia and
Erin Alpers also produced first-place performances for the Royals.
Krier began the day by leading off the 4x100-meter relay. The junior combined with
AddieKay Johnson,
Danielle Peterson and
Hanna Frekot as the squad posted a season best 49.18, the top time in the MIAC this season.
In the 100-meter dash, Krier led a 1-3 Bethel finish. Her time of 12.62 topped the field and Peterson's 12.88 placed her third. Krier's time currently ranks her seventh on the MIAC performance list.
Running into a stiff headwind, Krier and Johnson crossed the line second and third, respectively, in the 200-meter dash. The duo recorded times of 26.50 and 26.85. Both athletes rank in the MIAC top-5 in the event with their performances from April 3's Hamline Invitational.
Amanda Passaglia won the hammer throw with a heave of 147'8" (45.01 meters), the second-best throw of her career and the fourth-ranked toss in the MIAC.
Erin Alpers, MIAC indoor champion in the 800-meters, got back to her winning ways, topping the 800-meter field in a time of 2:17.00, the eighth-best time in the conference.
Hanna Frekot's leap of 17'0" (5.18m) earned her a runner-up finish in the long jump. The freshman's mark of 17'4.75" (5.30m) meters from last week's meet at Wheaton has her sitting fourth in the conference in the event.
Bailey Meyer finished third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a time of 12:58.70.
A clearance of 5'0.25" (1.53m) placed
Katie Dillie third in the high jump.
The Royals will send four relay squads (4x100, 4x200, sprint and distance medleys) and 10,000-meter runner
Mollie Gillberg to the Drake Relays Thursday- Saturday, Apr. 28-30. The rest of the squad will compete at Macalester's Janis Rider Invitational Apr. 30.
