RESULTSWHEATON, Ill.—
Bryce DeBoer produced the second-best throw of his career, heaving the hammer 165'2" (50.35 meters) to win the event at Wheaton's Don Church Twilight meet. The mark currently ranks DeBoer third in the MIAC and was one of two wins for the Royals Saturday.
In addition to DeBoer, the 4x100-meter relay topped their field, crossing the line in a time of 42.35.
Jon Pytlak,
Karl Olsen,
Patrick Klamm and
Carl Klamm combined to produce that mark.
P. Klamm gave his 400-meter personal best of 49.99 a scare, using a strong finish to cross the line in 50.22, good for third place.
Klamm also led off the 4x400-meter relay, combining with Olsen,
Dan Wahlstedt and
Evan Hatton to record a season best and MIAC-leading time of 3:18.96. That time placed the squad fourth at the meet.
Grant Bullert missed his lifetime best mark in the long jump by a mere 2.25 inches, leaping 21'6.25" (6.56m) to finish third.
In the triple jump,
Jon Pytlak finished third with a jump of 40'8.75" (12.41m).
Tom Ritter ended the night on a high note for the Royals, taking nearly 22 seconds off his personal best in the 10,000-meter run, the meet's final event. Ritter's time of 32:31.98 placed him third overall and is currently the top time in the MIAC.
Bethel returns to action at the Carleton Relays in Northfield, Saturday, Apr. 23.
