James Moyer's school heptathlon record highlighted the second day of competition at the MIAC championship meet. Moyer set personal bests in six out of the seven events contested, finishing with a total of 4,455 points, 90 points ahead of the previous mark. The sophomore finished the competition in fourth place overall.
The Royals ended the day in sixth place as a team with 38.0 points.
Bryce DeBoer earned All-MIAC honors with a second place finish in the weight throw. DeBoer threw a season best 55'9" (16.99 meters).
Connor Haugen anchored the distance medley relay to an All-MIAC second-place finish.
David Huffman,
Phillip Anderson and
Dan Wahlstedt ran the first three legs of the relay.
Carl Klamm and
Evan Hatton both placed in the 800-meter run. Klamm earned All-MIAC Â honors with a third-place 1:57.90 and Hatton finished seventh in 1:58.31.
In the 55-meter hurdles,
Colton Syler and
Phillip Anderson finished fourth and sixth, running 8.12 and 8.18, respectively.
Patrick Klamm grabbed the final scoring place in the 400-meter dash, running a personal best time of 50.63.
The third and final day of competition begins tomorrow at 11:45 a.m.
