RESULTSST. PAUL—Running at Macalester's Kilt Classic Friday night, the Royals turned in several strong performances in their final tune-up for next weekend's conference meet.
Freshman
Karl Olsen led a 1-2-3 finish in the men's 200-meter dash. Olsen ran a season best time of 23.06. Junior
Patrick Klamm in second and
Jon Pytlak in third both recorded personal records, running 23.16 and 23.21, respectively.
Klamm and Pylak teamed up with
Luke Riveness and
Keith Vollendorf to win the 4x200-meter relay in a time of 1:31.46, the second-ranked time in the MIAC.
David Huffman crossed the line first in the 1,000-meter run. The sophomore used a strong final lap to top the field in a personal best mark of 2:36.82. Freshman
Sam Nelson finished third in the race in 2:38.42, his lifetime best in the event.
Sophomores
Phillip Anderson and
Colton Syler finished 2-3 in the 60-meter hurdles. Anderson's time of 8.80 was a personal best for him, beating his previous best of 8.89 set in his prelim race.
Freshman
Grant Bullert finished second in the long jump, leaping 20'10" (6.35 meters) adding nearly five inches onto his personal record.
Bryce DeBoer finished third in the weight throw with a toss of 53'0.75" (16.17m). The senior is ranked fourth in the MIAC in the event.
Boston Knighton-Johnson clinched himself a spot in the conference meet for the pole vault, improving his lifetime best in the event by nearly a foot. The freshman cleared 13'5.25" (4.10m). His previous best mark was 12'7.5" (3.85m).
The MIAC championship meet will be held at Carleton College, Thursday-Saturday, Mar. 3-5.
