RESULTSMINNEAPOLIS--For the second week in a row,
Hanna Frekot topped the field in the long jump, winning the event at the Saturday's Parents Day Open at the University of Minnesota. The MIAC-leading freshman continued her strong season with a mark of 17'4.25" (5.29 meters).
Freshman
AddieKay Johnson set another personal best in the 400-meter dash, dropping nearly half a second off her previous best set last week. Her 1:00.47 placed her fourth overall, and also stands fourth in the MIAC.
Erin Alpers (So.) competed well against a talented field in the 800-meter run, finishing fifth in 2:17.05, only .02 seconds behind her personal best. That time of 2:17.03 is the third-best mark in the MIAC.
In the 60-meter dash, junior
Jillian Krier dipped under eight seconds for the first time this season, recording a 7.98 in the prelims before running 8.06 to finish fifth in the finals. Krier's 7.98 currently ranks her second in the MIAC.
In a repeat of last year, junior
Katie Dillie won the unseeded section of the long jump in 15'4.75" (4.69m).
Freshman
Madeline Hoffert set a personal best of 32'9" (9.98m) to finish third in the unseeded shot put.
The Royals return to action Friday, Feb. 26 at Macalester's Kilt Classic.
