RESULTSGRINNELL, Iowa-Running in their first meet at full strength, the Bethel men's 4x400-meter relay posted a MIAC-leading time at Grinnell College's Darren Young Classic. The squad of
Carl Klamm,
Karl Olsen,
Dan Wahlstedt and
Patrick Klamm crossed the line second in 3:21.88, the top time in the conference by over a second and a top-20 time nationally.
C. Klamm's strong opening leg sparked the relay's performance and capped off his fantastic day. The freshman began the meet with a 1:55.64 800 meters, the MIAC leader. Fellow freshman
Evan Hatton finished fourth in the race and ranks fourth in the MIAC with a time of 1:56.62.
Junior
Connor Haugen turned in a strong performance in the men's mile, winning the event in a new personal best time of 4:25.09.
Senior
Bryce DeBoer finished third in the weight throw with a mark of 52'4.5" (15.96 meters).
On the back of a strong anchor leg by freshman
Sam Nelson, the distance medley relay team of
Justin Brecheisen,
Keenan Pearson,
Taylor Huffman and Nelson crossed the line third, running 11:03.75.
The Royals return to the track next weekend for two meets, the University of Minnesota's Snowshoe Classic Friday, Feb. 19 and St. Olaf's Tostrud Open Saturday, Feb. 20.
