John, Tollette, and Johnson Receive MIAC Men's Golf Awards

ST. PAUL—The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced the 2014 Men's Golf Awards late Tuesday afternoon, which included three members of the Bethel University squad. Among the list were sophomores Dillon John and Davis Tollette, who each earned All-Conference honors, as well as Devon Johnson, who was the Royals' representative on the All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team.
 
Dillon John competed in seven meets throughout the 2013-14 school year and averaged 77.5 strokes throughout the 15 rounds played. John's season was highlighted by a Top 10 finish at the 2013 MIAC Championships at Bunker Hills Golf Course, where he fired a 13-over par, 229 (77-76-76).
 
Davis Tollette had similar success in 2013-14, as the sophomore golfer averaged 77.5 strokes in 13 rounds played. Tollette also was among the Top 10 players at the 2013 MIAC Championships, as he tied with John for 10th place with a final score of 229 (74-74-81).
 
Devon Johnson was honored to the All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team. Members of the All-MIAC Sportsmanship team are selected by their coaches and teammates as individuals who demonstrate ideals of positive sportsmanship both on and off the field of competition. Johnson carried an average of 78.3 strokes throughout the year after 14 rounds played, which was highlighted by a 12th place finish at the 2013 MIAC Championships.
