The MIAC announced at the conclusion of the 2013 softball season that Bethel head coach
Rod Radcliffe was the conference Coach of the Year and that shortstop
Angie Jackson was the Player of the Year. Radcliffe, who was voted by his softball-coaching peers, helped the Royals get to an overall record of 27-15 and a conference mark of 14-6, which led to a second-place finish in both the regular and postseason, which was the best in program history.
Radcliffe had several key contributors, including
Angie Jackson, who was not only Bethel softball's first MIAC Player of the Year, but also their first NFCA All-American. Jackson was honored to the Second Team after being an All-Region First Team award-winner.
In her sophomore season Jackson flirted with a .500 overall batting average, finishing second in the MIAC with a .479 mark. Her .789 slugging percentage ranked first and .522 on-base percentage was second in the league. She led the league in overall games, in hits (68), runs (59), doubles (16), was second in total bases (112), third in home runs (eight), fifth in RBI (39) and triples (two).
She was even better in MIAC play, leading the league with an out-of-this world .571 batting average. She also led the league in on-base percentage (.595), runs (32), hits (40), doubles (nine), total bases (66). Her .943 slugging percentage ranked No. 2 in the MIAC and Jackson was fifth in home runs (five) and RBI (20).
