Perkins Receives Ed Thomas Award
Incoming Bethel University freshman offensive tackle Joshua Perkins (Iowa Falls, IA) has been named by the Iowa Football Coaches Association (IFCA) as the Ed Thomas Award recipient from Iowa's Class 2A.

The Ed Thomas Award honors the former Aplington-Parkersburg High School football coach who was shot and killed by a former player. The award honors student-athletes who characterize the values of faith, family, and football—values Thomas instilled in his athletes throughout his time as a coach.

Joshua Perkins was selected for the honor for his character and commitment to both academics and athletics. The 6'6” freshman earned academic all-state and all-district football honors during his time at Iowa Falls High School. Perkins, who intends to major in youth ministry, will join a football team that seeks to exemplify the values that are recognized through this award.
